Our kids Jiu-Jitsu program is taught in two separate sections:
1) Self Defense, Confidence, Discipline & Anti-Bullying program which is our kids "Street & Recreational" Program. This program features the Jiu-Jitsu approach to defense in close quarters combat involving throwing techniques, ground control grappling, submissions and escapes.
2) Competition Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As team Ascension we boast the most dominante kids competition team over the past 3 years winning all but 3 tournaments over that time. These kids learn and drill highly refined grappling techniques designed not only to control people in a self-D efense scenario, but also a gainst a well schooled adversary who knows Jiu-Jitsu.
These programs actually mirrors the adult program with techniques, so your child will be prepared for the adult program when they graduate into it. You
will see increased awareness, focus and confidence within a short period of joining.
We treat the children as small adults but with more structure than in the adult program. With the kids program we are strict and very structured; however, the kids are treated with the respect an adult receives given m
ature behaviour. However, with that said our kids program is great fun and exercise for the kids and they learn the responsibility it takes to learn Jiu-Jitsu — they are instructed never to use it, words and reason first.
If your child is being bullied we teach the bully buster. Many of our kids have been bullied before Jiu-Jitsu and have learned how to deal with the bullies and no longer are the victims of bullies.
